During
my consulting contract with Verizon for 3 years. Kenton Group’s
Director of Operation’s offered me the position of Field Manager for their
engineering offices located in Tampa Fl, and Riverside CA
Engineering
Manager –
Area
of responsibilities for managing engineering and drafting function for
several telecommunication contracts.
§ Managing
the work flow for approx 35 engineers, 2 project managers, and 1 quality
control engineer.
§ Develop
training work-shops that relate to new client work-load that geared toward
individual customer needs
§ Attended
weekly meetings with Verizon management team in Fl and CA to cover project
related issues, milestone dates for work-load, M&P standards and
changes.
§ Managed
the P&L reports for our Tampa Florida, and Riverside California
offices. Made biweekly trips to oversee work flow and progress for our
customer in our California.
§ Attended
quarterly meetings with Kenton Group Executive Directors, and Sr. Sales
Staff to review current and new business development. Involved in creating
new policies and procedures within our organization.
§ Attended
several conventions and trade shows for future broadband systems such as
FTTP, FTTH, FTTX and the technology that came with these types of networks
from CO equipment OLT, GPON, BPON to ONT.
During
my time in this position with Kenton Group maintained a contract with
Verizon’s FTTP that managed to engineer and permit the routes for
fiber-Optic feeder and distribution cables for approx 700,000 homes since
2005. Our office has also managed engineering contracts with Windstream,
Centurylink, and Qwest for fiber optic and copper facilities. Was a
participant in most bidding processes with Kenton Groups Senior Sales
Executives and Operations Director. In 2009 Kenton Group was awarded a 4
year contact with Verizon Core BAU engineering Group. I was responsible for
maintaining a core group of 9 engineers and 5 drafters that were qualified
and proficient in Copper engineering for projects such as Copper migration,
Obligatory Road Moves, IOF routes, TLS sites and MDU/MTU upgrades, Route
selection for Fiber to the Cell sites, DAS locations, Node locations with
all permitting and land acquisition required. Our local staff held once a
week meetings for Progress, Quality, and Training for engineering and
drafting associates.

of responsibilities for Network Engineer
§ Coordinate
engineering efforts & construction revisions for ongoing FTTP projects
within 6 wire-centers.
§ Quality
control reviewed engineered feeder routes, and distribution red-line
drawings along with the permit applications for each work-order within
those 6 wire-centers.
§ Attended
meetings with local and state agencies for resolutions on permit issues or
addendums to existing permits.
§ Pre-field
and complete site survey assessments via power-point and photos for MDU
& MTU designs. Pre-planned from existing FOC facilities to utilized new
technologies for FTTP network with-in urban areas for high-rise
implementation. Work closely with building engineer and construction
contractors while facilities were being placed.
Holding
this position for 3 years I was involved with M&P changes, roll out of
new equipment, and Verizon / Vendor meetings for quality and completion
dates. Attended safety meetings with local agencies with regards to MOT
(maintenance of traffic) guide lines for permitting packages. Was part of
the Verizon planning and development team for process and procedures for
FTTP program.

§ Worked
closely with Verizon planning and engineering groups to establish routes
for main feeder and distribution hub locations.
In
2004 Ameriss was the first engineering contract firm to implement Fiber to
the home (FTTP) in the west central location of Florida for Verizon.
